ForSalebyOwner.com Founder Hires a Broker to Sell His Home!

The founder of For Sale by Owner Web site used a real estate broker to help sell his two-bedroom New York apartment after it lingered on the market for six months. Colby Sambrotto, the founder and chief operating officer of ForSalebyOwner.com, could not sell the property himself by listing it online and through classified ads, but after six months of it sitting on the market, he hired the help of a real estate broker.

The interesting part is the broker suggested he raise the price to attract a different type of Client and they had multiple offers.

Asheville Real Estate is no different! It is easy to understand why home owners would try to save the commission with the home values dropping to a new low. You would expect me as a broker to defend my value as a professional and being able to sell a home for more than a home owner could and it is tempting to do exactly that. But for the sake of not boring you I will leave it at that.

Asheville home sale figures through July is down from a year ago by about 1% but homes under contract are up but have not closed yet.

So you can see how close the figures are compared to last year. One soft month can make a difference. Beverly-Hanks and Associates closed sales are up by 9% over last year. We have increased our share in the market and now do more residential sales the next 4 brokers combined.
